The Long Island Junior Soccer League (LIJSL) has teamed up with League partners such as New York Red Bulls, The Coaching Manual and keynote speaker Patrick Ianni to provide content for membership. Players, coaches, and player families can remain engaged in soccer via online webinars, digital learning, programs, and entertaining virtual events.
“During these challenging times it’s good to keep your children engaged and playing the sport they love,” LIJSL Technical Director Ronan Wisemen said. “The Soccer at Home Initiatives from LIJSL are designed to do just that.
“They help the children stay in touch with the game, have fun while doing it, and play with their parents or siblings which, may not happen too often in different circumstances. The initiatives also help their mental health by having them focus on a sport they love to play.”
LIJSL has teamed up with the Red Bulls to provide a virtual freestyle party as well as upcoming player Q&As with first-team players.
“We are excited to support the LIJSL initiatives to encourage players to safely stay active during these difficult times,” said Bryan Alcantara, Youth Training Programs Regional Manager, New York Red Bulls. “We could all use some positivity right now and hope that these events provide exactly that.”
Additionally, LIJSL will be working together with The Coaching Manual (TCM) to have digital content available exclusively to membership via their TopTekkers platform.
“We built TopTekkers to complement the work coaches are doing, by giving them a platform which they can share with children and parents and which is proven to help children improve their soccer technique,” The Coaching Manual Chief Executive Officer Terry Barton said. “It’s ultra user friendly for children and can give them and parents a genuine record of their development.”
More information regarding the TopTekkerrs platform will be released in the near future.
From a player perspective, LIJSL will be hosting keynote speaker and former Seattle Sounders (MLS) player Patrick Ianni in virtual workshops and presentations.
“This time is a great time to take advantage of the experience of others and LIJSL is giving you the opportunity to learn from experts that have spent years learning what they are teaching,” Ianni said.
