LIJSL Teams Head to Virginia for USYS League Championship Playoffs

Twelve LIJSL member teams have taken a big step towards the USYS Eastern Regionals as they compete in the USYS League Championship Playoffs on May 22 and 23 in Midlothian, Va.

What began as a tightly competitive group stage now comes down to the playoff against some of the most talented youth teams along the east coast. USYS League Championship, the brand new program by U.S. Youth Soccer, is an additional pathway to the USYS Eastern Regional Championships for those that win the playoff.

“I’m excited for the LIJSL teams taking part in the inaugural League Championship playoffs,” said Ronan Wiseman, LIJSL Technical Director. “It promises to be a great event with talented teams from the Northeast Region. The opportunity for the winning teams to go to the USYS Eastern Regionals is a great reward and incentive for participating teams.”

The exclusive program includes teams from the following leagues: Club Champions League (VA/W. VA/MD), Club Champions League New England (MA/VT/NH), and the National Capital Soccer League (MD/D.C.).
