Hall of Fame Inductees and Marg McGory Award Recipient Praised, Awards Ceremony Held at League Office

The 2020 LIJSL Hall of Fame inductees and Marg McGory Volunteer of the Year Award recipient were formally recognized at the League office on Sunday, May 16th 2021.

Typically, the Hall of Fame inductees and Marg McGory Award recipient are recognized at the LIJSL Awards Dinner during the Annual Convention. Due to ongoing limitations on social gatherings, these outstanding individuals were presented their awards in a smaller-scale, private ceremony.

Surrounded by their immediate families on a beautiful Sunday morning, each individual was presented their respective award by a member of the LIJSL Board of Directors.

Among the five individuals recognized were: the Marg McGory Award recipient, Jessica Lee (West Hempstead), and Hall of Fame Inductees, Kevin Ferrari (Massapequa SC), George “Skip” Haile (Merrick/S. Merrick), Christopher McGovern (Plainedge), and Kostadinos “Kosta” Siskidis (Stony Brook, LIJSL Games).

“We were very proud to recognize Jessica, Kevin, Skip, Christopher, and Kosta. They represent the very best examples of why we all do what we do – going over and above to support their local community, their local clubs, and this great game of ours,” Andrew Seabury, LIJSL President.

All of these exceptional volunteers have dedicated and contributed tremendous time and efforts to better the youth of our communities.

“It was a wonderful ceremony shared with their families and friends, thank you all for everything that you have done, and continue to do”, Seabury added.
