The Northeast-10 Conference Woman of the Year was awarded to Adelphi University’s Morgan Salmon earlier this month.
The senior captain helped lead Adelphi to the NE10 Championship Final and later to the NCAA Division II National Semifinals after earning the school’s first NCAA Division II East Region Championship in twenty years.
During her acceptance speech, she highlighted the impact working with the West Hempstead TOPSoccer program has had on her.
“My last thanks is going out to West Hempstead TOPSoccer and Lauren Lee,” Salmon said. “I started volunteering for this program in 2013, so I grew up with these kids, they are neighborhood kids, and as much as you would think that I have taught them, they have truly formed me into the person I am.”
