Remembering Longtime Mineola President Dolores Jose

The LIJSL has been saddened to hear of the passing of Mineola Athletic Association (M.A.A.) President Dolores Jose.

She was a fixture in the Mineola soccer community, starting as a coach and taking on different roles within the M.A.A. and served the club for over 40 years.

Jose was on the LIJSL Games Committee as a coordinator, supervisor, and day director for over 30 years and was inducted into the LIJSL Hall of Fame in 2013.

“I think everyone who worked with Dolores knows how much she cared about the kids in Mineola,” Mineola registrar and trainer Michael Filippi said. “Hopefully we are able to keep her memory alive within our club because she was selfless person who genuinely cared about the community.”

Her presence on the soccer field will be missed and the LIJSL sends its condolences to her family, friends, and all in the Mineola soccer community.
