Middle Country SC SBMC 05 (GU18) recently competed at the United States Youth Soccer (USYS) National Championship and reached the final for the team’s age group.
After picking up two wins and a draw in the group stage, Middle Country followed that up with a 1-0 win over McClean in the semifinals. In the Final, the LIJSL side fell, 2-0, to Quickstrike FC.
While it didn’t end up in a USYS National Championship, the run for Middle Country was nothing short of sensational. The club also highlighted the importance of the USYS. League Championship. Middle Country earned the title at League Championship in May down in Riichmond, Va. to qualify for the USYS Eastern Regionals. In June, in Loudon County, Va., Middle Country were crowned champions once again for the GU18 bracket before competing in Nationals at the end of July.
