The Long Island Junior Soccer League is excited to announce a new indoor competition that will be held from January through March. The new addition will be the Winter Showdown 6V6 League, which will be open to the U9 age group for both boys and girls.
The League is designed to optimize tactical awareness, which is why players on the field will be kept at six per side (five on the field plus goalkeeper) during the eight weeks of League play. Each game will be 50 minutes long, with two halves at 25 minutes apiece.
All games in this newest offering by LIJSL will take place at Stony Brook University’s state of the art indoor facility that consists of all turf fields.
Registration for the competition is open now at the link below. The cost to enter a team is $1,250 and a roster can have a maximum of 14 players.
