The Eastern New York Youth Soccer Association (ENYYSA) wrapped up both the State Cup and Challenge Cup competitions on the weekend of June 3-4. Over the course of the weekend, six teams from the LIJSL were crowned champions.
Three teams took the top honor in the Challenge Cup. The Massapequa Lady Rascals earned a 1-0 extra-time victory to claim the GU10 crown. Little Neck/Douglaston Dragons posted a 4-0 shutout to earn the BU12 title, while the Central Islip Red Bulls also put on an impressive offensive display with a 6-0 title-clinching win in the BU13 bracket.
Three teams then earned a berth to the USYS Eastern Regionals from June 23-29 in Loudoun County, Va. as part of the National Championship Series with their State Cup victories. Both the Stony Brook LGN Wildlings and Cold Spring Harbor/Huntington B/W Gottschee East earned 3-0 wins, to capture the BU15 and BU16 title, respectively. Connetquot Ronkonkoma Real FC claimed the BU18 championship with a 4-1 victory.
