The 3v3 Summer Soccer Series made its way to Peter C. Collins Soccer Park on Saturday, June 27 and it was a big hit amongst the competing players.
The event, in conjunction with Eastern New York Youth Soccer Association and AirPitch USA, was a qualifier for the 3v3 Summer Series State Championship on July 25 in Middletown, N.Y. at 12th Rock Sports.
Teams from U7-U19 competed in as many as five games for a chance to top the bracket and advance to the next stage.
Over the course of the two, three-hour windows of play, the competition was nonstop on the AirPitch fields with an electric atmosphere all around Soccer Park.
“Saturday’s event was the first of its kind in partnership with Eastern New York and AirPitch,” LIJSL Programs and Events Manager Stephanie Hernandez said. “It was a wonderful opportunity to give players a lot of touches and constant movement on the inflatable fields. We congratulate all the teams moving on to the regional level and many thanks to Tom Frambach from ENY and Julia Troskot from AirPitch, who were wonderful to work with.
“Special thanks goes out to Tim Maloney and staff who work endlessly behind the scenes at Peter C. Collins Soccer Park to ensure everything stays on schedule. We all look forward to working with AirPitch for future events.”
