TOPSoccer Friendship Cup Was Perfect Day At Peter C. Collins Soccer Park

The TOPSoccer Friendship Cup and BBQ was the perfect mix of soccer, fun, and food under sunny skies at Peter C. Collins Soccer Park on June 6.

The annual event saw hundreds in attendance to celebrate TOPSoccer athletes around the LIJSL. Along with playing several friendly matches, athletes received medals, t-shirts, and more giveaways before enjoying the catered BBQ lunch.

At this year’s event, several partners joined in for the fun of the day. Air Pitch USA set up a pair of inflatable fields as well as Amazon volunteers provided additional smiles with their giveaways. The LIJSL thanks them, along with longtime referee and advocate of the event Randy Vogt, who helped coordinate the event’s officials.

The Friendship Cup is one of the leagues greatest events, and the BEST part of my job,” LIJSL Programs and Events Manager Stephanie Hernandez said. “It was truly a wonderful day and look forward to seeing everyone next year.”

“On behalf of all TOPSoccer athletes, parents, coaches, volunteers, and families we want to thank LIJSL for sponsoring this year’s Friendship Cup,” LIJSL TOPSoccer Chairperson Ann Marie Toth said. “This was by far the best we ever had because of your generosity.  We had nothing but good vibes from everyone who participated. A special thanks to Stephanie and all her volunteers who were outstanding. Stephanie shows so much love for all our TOPSoccer athletes and her commitment is unbelievable.”
