The second year of US Youth Soccer (USYS) League Championship took place this past weekend as LIJSL hosted the competition at the Bethpage Polo Grounds.
Teams from Club Champions League (CCL), National Capital Soccer League (NCSL), and New England Club Soccer League (NECSL), along with LIJSL, were vying for a berth into the USYS Eastern Regionals, which take place Jun 24-30 in Charleston and Barboursville, West Virginia.
After two days of action, six LIJSL teams will be headed to West Virginia for a chance to reach the USYS National Championship. Those teams are below:

BU15 CSH Gottschee East
GU13 Smithtown Kickers Maroon
GU15 Stony Brook/Lake Grove Newfield Athletico
GU17 Stony Brook/Lake Grove Newfield Arsenal
GU19 Massapequa Ladies Select
“It was fantastic to see the LIJSL teams compete in the League Championship Finals at the Bethpage Polo Fields this past weekend,” LIJSL Technical Director Ronan Wiseman said. “In the 14 age groups that played, six teams from LIJSL member clubs are moving forward to participate in the Eastern Regionals.
“The Polo Fields were a great venue for the event, the officiating was top notch, and with very competitive teams from all over the Northeast region all vying for a place at the Eastern Regionals, it made for an excellent event.”
The LIJSL would like to congratulate all of the teams that competed and advanced to the next stage of competition!
