This weekend, LIJSL kicks off its’ 56th seasonal year of providing competition for youth soccer players.
“As we continue to slowly edge back into normal life, it’s great to see the players get back on the field again. With collegiate and H.S. games being played alongside our League games, it feels like a proper Fall season,” said Ronan Wiseman, LIJSL Technical Director
As the League heads into opening weekend, please remember that:
- ALL League matches follow LIJSL REMAIN to Play Fall ’21 protocols
- Teams’ Players, Coaches, AND Spectators on the same sideline
LIJSL’s success last year, in scheduling and playing more than 11,000 league travel games – with NO game postponed or canceled due to a positive COVID-19 test related directly to a league/club soccer activity (game, scrimmage, training or practice) – was due to everyone’s support and cooperation; Spectators – Coaches – Trainers – Players – Referees – Club Officials alike.
Let’s all continue to work together to REMAIN TO PLAY, enabling the youth of our communities to enjoy all the physical, mental, and social benefits our game affords them.
To all of the more than 1500 teams participating under our (LIJSL) banner this fall … Thank you for continuing to make your League the largest youth activity organization on Long Island, and the biggest youth soccer league in New York State. Stay safe and healthy … and Have a Great Season!
