The Long Island Junior Soccer League announced today that Carlo Ritaccio has been named as the new Academy West Director.
“I am very excited to take on this new role in the organization,” Ritaccio said. “I am eager to help these young soccer players further their development, both as players and people, and create an environment that allows for these players to drive for success in their upcoming seasons!”
Ritaccio is a Long Island native and a former Major League Soccer SuperDraft selection. He was drafted 63rd overall by the Chicago Fire and captained the club’s inaugural Chicago Fire II squad in MLS Next Pro. During his collegiate playing days with the University of Akron, he was named the 2018 TopDrawerSoccer.com National Freshman of the Year and that same year helped the Zips reach the NCAA Division 1 Soccer Championship game. Ritaccio was also a former US Youth National Team member.
Ritaccio holds all US Soccer Grassroots licenses.
“We are excited to have Carlo join the Academy West as the Program Director,” LIJSL Academy Director Ronan Wiseman said. “He did an excellent job as one of the coaches last year and I’m looking forward to working with him in his new role.”
Ritaccio joins returning Academy East Director Andreas Lindberg for the 2025 campaign.
