Dylan Lopez has a dream and he’s chasing it.
Lopez, who is 16 years old, recently signed with American Soccer Club New York in his first step chasing a professional career. ASCNY currently play in the National Premier Soccer League.
The midfielder began playing with LIJSL club Stony Brook LGN (now Atlantic United) when he was eight.
“Dylan is a very talented young player, who is mature beyond his 16 years,” LIJSL Sporting Director and ASCNY Head Coach John Fitzgerald said. “He still has plenty of growth to work through in the game, but there is something special that’s already evident.
“He’s a Long Island kid, who has played locally where he’s developed into his current level. I see him as a ‘discovery player’ for ASCNY, and I’m certain he will be a positive example for other young players trying to make it.”
Lopez’s signing was recently written about in the New York Post, telling the Post that he dreams of playing in Spain one day.
