There are always new lessons to be learned in the beautiful game.
During the upcoming LIJSL convention, there will be several technical demonstrations and presentations for coaches, who can then put what they’ve learned into their own training sessions.
“Every coach should have a learning mentality and see this as an opportunity to improve their training sessions to ultimately benefit their players,” LIJSL Technical Director Ronan Wiseman said. “These demonstrations are geared towards coaches at all levels and each session can be adjusted to suit players of different abilities.”
Split between March 9-10, there will be three demos as well as a presentation on U.S. Soccer methods and principles, all presented by Kwik Goal, at the Long Island Huntington Hilton. The focus of the demo sessions will range from the key fundamentals of passing to helping better players’ decision making.
Each technical demonstration will be run by a different instructor that includes LIJSL Player Development Program coach Bart Polster, New York Red Bulls Manager of Coach Education Bryan Alcantara, and United Soccer Coaches Director of Coaching Education Ian Barker.
“The clinicians are experienced and will bring their knowledge to each of these sessions,” Wiseman said. “They will share their unique approaches to the coaches of our LIJSL member clubs and we feel strongly it will be a great benefit to all involved.”
