The LIJSL is saddened to learn of the passing of legendary Brentwood coach Ron Eden.
He made an incredible impact on players in the community as the coach of Brentwood High School, amassing a record of 484-70-32 during his tenure of 31 seasons leading the Spartans. It’s the second most wins by a Suffolk County boys head coach. He led the school to four state titles and received the United Soccer Coaches National Coach of the Year award in 2023 after a 22-0 season.
Prior to coaching, Eden played professionally in the American Soccer League for the New York Apollo in the 1970s.
Eden was 72 at the time of his passing.
