The Winter Showdown, the LIJSL-run indoor league, is returning this January. Games will once again be played at the state-of-the-art facility on the campus of Stony Brook University.
After a successful first year of play for just the U9 age group for boys and girls, the upcoming competition will be even bigger. Age brackets will now include U9-U12.
The Winter Showdown will play a total of eight games across five weeks of play from January to March and provides opportunities for teams to compete in LIJSL-run events almost year round.
All games will be played 6v6 to optimize tactical awareness and will have a runtime of 40 minutes (2 x 20-minute halves). Teams can register a maximum of 14 players.
The cost to enter the Winter Showdown is $995 and includes facility and referee fees as well as shirts for champions.
