As one of the largest single-elimination youth soccer tournaments in North America, the competition is held in concurrence with the LIJSL spring season, running from March to June. Nearly 1,300 teams participate in the LI Cup yearly.
Tiered levels of play (Platinum, Gold, Silver, etc.) are offered for both boys and girls teams in the U9 (2017) thru U19 (2007) age groups.
Depending on the specific age/gender group, there can be three or more tiers of individual competition, providing all teams with an opportunity to become a LI Cup Champion.
There are several rounds of play leading up to LI Cup Finals. Preliminary as well as quarter or semifinal rounds are hosted by the designated home team of each match.
The Finals are a two-day event. Boys and girls teams U10 (2016) thru U13 (2013) play their finals on the Sunday date. Boys and girls teams U14 (2012) thru U19 (2007) play on the Saturday date of the weekend. Boys and girls teams U9 (2017) will play on Saturday as well.
This year’s LI Cup Finals will be hosted at the Half Hollow Hills Soccer Complex, in the Town of Huntington, on June 13-14.
