The LIJSL Academy East and West teams recently competed in the first of the program’s two summer tournaments at the Seaside Classic. Two LIJSL teams finished as champions during the event that took place on July 12-13 in Rhode Island.
The Academy East BU10 and Academy East GU12 both finished the tournament unbeaten. The boys won all four games, while the girls had three victories and one draw.
The Academy East and West teams will wrap up the summer slate of competition locally on July 26-27 at Liberty Cup Long Island.
“It’s great that the Academy East and West teams participated in the Seaside Classic as it’s a very good summer event for the teams,” LIJSL Academy Director Ronan Wiseman said. “The teams will be set up well to compete in the Liberty Cup this coming weekend.”
