The successes for the LIJSL have been many with many more to come as 2025 progresses.
The high notes that were discussed during the spring Semi-Annual General Meeting on June 3 at the Long Island Huntington Hilton included the pilot addition of the Winter Showdown and future growth as well as the return of Liberty Cup Long Island. Also of note was the League’s strengthening ties with IberCup through Elite Clubs Alliance League and other future international opportunities.
“This meeting, alongside our Presidents Roundtables, has really allowed us to showcase to our clubs the dynamic nature of LIJSL and the level of exciting programs the League has been able to introduce as well as the opportunities it provides to our membership and all of Long Island’s youth soccer players,” LIJSL President Andrew Seabury said.

The League also once again noted the return of the Convention for the 60th anniversary as registration for exhibitors has now opened up.
Over the course of the meeting, all board members up for reelection were approved by the membership.
Representatives of American Soccer Club New York closed out the meeting as they spoke about the club’s start on the pitch and opening up the floor for collaborations between LIJSL clubs and the NPSL side.

The current LIJSL Spring Season is set for an exciting close with Long Island Cup Finals to be played on June 7-8 at Half Hollow Hills Soccer Park and all League games to be wrapped up by the end of the month. The League also recently hosted the TOPSoccer Friendship Cup on June 1 at Peter C. Collins Soccer Park.
