Former Manchester United and England national team player David Beckham visited Long Island and was a featured guest at the Long Island Association’s Fall Luncheon on October 11. Several LIJSL Academy coaches and player had the opportunity to listen to Beckham speak about his career as well as his work ethic and dedication to the game.
LIJSL Academy representatives at the Fall Luncheon included coaches Scott Scelsa and Bart Polster as well as players Koji Flores and Layla Keltai. The LIJSL Academy contingent walked away with several lessons to impart in their own continued soccer journeys as well as getting the chance to take photos with the England great.
The LIJSL Academy will look to use the lessons learned when competing at Super Y Nationals in Tampa, Fla. this December.
