Liberty Cup Long Island Readies For Larger Competition

Liberty Cup Long Island, the Long Island Junior Soccer League-run tournament, is set to kick off this summer with an expanded competition field.

The tournament, which will be held on July 25-26, will now include the U13 to U15 age groups. The competition was previously only for U9-U12 players. All age groups will play three games and a final over the course of the two days.

“After a great first year on the return of the Liberty Cup it promises to be an even bigger and better event in 2026,” LIJSL Technical Director Ronan Wiseman said. “With expanded age groups that will follow the new age-group format it will allow teams to participate in a preseason tournament to start to prepare for the fall season. It will also give our Academy East and West teams some great competition to finish off their summer program.”

The growth of the event will also see an expanded footprint. Games will be played in two locations as Liberty Cup Long Island will utilize Brentwood Soccer Park and Orlin & Cohen Sports Complex. Both tournament sites will be all turf fields.

For the first time at Liberty Cup Long Island, full tournament insurance will also be available for teams choosing to opt in. More information on the insurance can be found here.
