The Long Island Junior Soccer League is set to host a brand new tournament this summer. The Long Island Liberty Cup kicks off its inaugural event on July 30-31.
The tournament will be held at the Half Hollow Hills Soccer Complex, in the town of Huntington, and is for boys and girls’ teams in the U9 (2013)-U14 (2008) age groups.
The tournament also provides another showcase for the LIJSL Academy East and West programs to play in.
“We are excited to host the first Long Island Liberty Cup that will give those teams looking for some competition over the summer an opportunity to play in a local event without the need for much travel,” LIJSL Academy Director Ronan Wiseman said. “We will have our LIJSL Academy East and Academy West teams take part in the event, giving them another opportunity to hone their skills and wrap up their summer programming.”
