Competing in Elite Clubs Alliance League (ECAL) to earn a spot at IberCup in Portugal has been a successful pathway for teams to get an unbelievable soccer and cultural experience. That will be no different for 2026-27.
“I’m looking forward to our third season of ECAL” LIJSL Technical Director Ronan Wiseman said. “The clubs that have played and qualified for the IberCup in the first two years have had a fantastic experience that they will remember forever. This year promises to be an even better competition.”
ECAL will begin play in Fall 2026 and run through Spring 2027, setting up teams that top their groups with qualification to IberCup Estoril in Summer 2027. The only expense for those teams is the flights to and from Portugal, while accommodation and three meals a day as well as transport to and from the airport and the tournament site are included.
Three LIJSL teams competed in Estoril this year and gained invaluable experience playing abroad.
ECAL is for LIJSL and non-LIJSL teams in the U9-U13 age groups. League play is once again self-scheduling with all games needing to be played by April 1, 2027.
Registration for ECAL is now open and can be accessed by clicking below.
