Re-cycle Program

The park staff recycles all the plastic bottles and caps that we can salvage. We ask that all those who come to the park please use the recycle barrels so we can more easily collect all the plastics. The money we get from the recycling of deposit bottles goes to charities including St. Jude Children's Hospital, Feed the Children, Wounded Warrior Project , and the Northport Veterans Administration program for treatment of our veterans suffering from Post-Traumatic Syndrome.

The Soccer Park staff is seeking a new partner for the bottle cap and tops re-cycling program. If you know of a school that has this program, we will gladly give them all the caps and tops we have. These caps are collected in conjunction with a program sponsored by Ronald McDonald House.

Soccer Players Kicking Hunger; Score a Goal For the Needy Families of Long Island

We have food collection barrels in front of the park office. We ask that all the coaches of teams that are scheduled to play at the park please ask their players to bring one non-perishable item with them to the game. Some coaches have the players bring the item to the last practice they have before the weekend game. The coach has a box in the trunk of his car and he brings the box to the park when they come to play. In recent years, the LIJSL has averaged donations of over 1,000 pounds of food per season to LI Cares.
