The Group A finale of the men’s 2014 World Cup Qualifying between the USA and Guatamala takes place on Tuesday. A win or tie will qualify the US for entry into the 2014 World Cup competition, but the team will be without Landon Donovan, Brek Shea, and Edgar Castillo, as well as Fabian Johnson (illness) and Jermaine Jones (two yellow cards). Guatamala also enters the game shorthanded. They will be without four starters for the contest.
The game, which will be played at Livestrong Sporting Park in Kansas City and broadcast live on ESPN2, is a rematch of game in June that resulted in a tie. Both teams are likely to advance regardless of Tuesday’s outcome, but the US will be looking to make a statement and finish on a high note.
