MIDWEST. Missouri stunned No. 11 Memphis. 5-1, in front of 1,169 fans at Walton Stadium. Mizzou went on a scoring frenzy early in the second half, getting two goals each from Taiwo Adeshigbin and junior Alyssa Diggs in nine minutes.

-- Senior Monica Lam-Feist's goal in the 84th minute gave Wisconsin a 1-0 win over No. 12 Notre Dame in front of 1,136 fans, ending a 14-game drought for the Badgers, who had not defeated the Fighting Irish since 1989.

got off to a quick start to the new season. How quick? She needed only 11 seconds to score for DePaul. Roommate Natasha Radosavljevic tallied the eventual game-winner in the 14th minutes the Blue Demons beat Towson, 2-1.

SOUTH. After an early tally from freshman Paige Lombard, Kate Howarth and Syracuse transfer Tina Romagnuolo scored to give Miami (Fla.) a 3-0 lead in the first half hour, and the Hurricanes cruised to a 4-1 win over the No. 9 Gators. Jesse Shugg, the leading scorer at FAU for two straight seasons before her transfer to Miami, opened her account as a Hurricane with a goal in the second half.

-- No. 1 Duke got goals from freshman Cassie Pecht, Laura Weinberg, Kim DeCesare and Katy Colas in the first 39 minutes en route to a 4-1 win over No. 20 William & Mary. "That's one of the best first halves that we've played in the 12 years that I've been here," said Blue Devils coach Robbie Church.

-- Two goals within a six-minute span in the second half catapulted visiting La Salle past No. 20 West Virginia, 2-1. The Explorers equalized in just the 59th minute when senior Leigh Gray put away a pass from junior Renee Washington and they pulled away  just six minutes later courtesy of a header by Jourdan McVicker on a corner.
